Hello. I recently purchased a Panasonic PV-GS16 DV Camcorder and a brand new 6-4pin firewire. There was an IEEE 1394 installed in my computer already. I followed the directions that came with the camera to the letter but the PC refuses to recognize that there is a camera attatched. The card has two firewire sockets in the back and there is one in the front of the PC but the wire runs through the computer to the card. And I am running Windows XP.

I checked the device manager and don't see the card installed anywhere unless it is listed under something else.
