Using a serial port as a virtual USB port?
I bought a Garmin eTrex legend, and a 2009 map software from garmin. the company said that the map would be compatible with my GPS but when I try and install it, it only looks for the USB ports, where my GPS only came with a Serial Port plug, so it claims that there is no GPS connected. Is there any sort of program to make serial ports be detected as USB ports, or if anyone knows about the product its self, is there a way I can download a compatible map etc.?
