I can't install xp on my dell optiplex gx280 that has a Intel 915G Express Chipset and no ad on hardware?
I think its because of the maxtor sata drive 6V080E0, 80GB, SATA, I tried the f6 method of loading the controller driver from the floppy from intel, but it will always freeze after the initial loading right when your entering setup, I have even tried 2 slipped streamed xp installations that have sata raid drives integrated in the setup, but even those freeze in the same place. does anyone know what I should try next?
I would triple check you have the correct sata drivers for the install on the floppy. Then go thru the regular install process. Something that might be helpful is to give the name of the driver file for this question, that way someone could verify at the maxtor website. Regards.
