Upgrading Your Toshiba Notebook Parts
Recommendations For Upgrading Toshiba Notebook Parts
Everything mechanical, or electronic, breaks down and nearly every computer made is expandable. This is also true of your Toshiba notebook but to be honest, as far as notebook technology has progressed, it is still not a great idea for you to go poking around in your notebook unless you really know what you are doing. But there are some upgrades you can do yourself and there are some repairs that can easily done for you by a technician using either generic replacement parts or Toshiba notebook parts. Then there are the things that look like they cannot be fixed but can be fixed using only Toshiba notebook parts. Then there is the fatal stuff.
Lets examine some circumstances to determine if your laptop is completely gone or if you can use Toshiba notebook parts to fix it.
Upgrades
Generally speaking any notebook computer can be upgraded. Look at your owners manual or go online to determine what parts can be replaced. Normally you can upgrade your hard drive and memory but unless you know how to do this you should take it to a professional.
Using Toshiba Notebook computer parts is always the best choice for memory upgrades, however is you are upgrading your hard drive capacity then generic models will generally work. You can check compatibility issues by going online or consulting your owners manual.
Notebook screens are not upgradeable. You would need a whole new notebook for that which, for some reason, is really difficult to get some people to understand. Trust me, you cannot upgrade your screen to a 17" screen in your existing notebook.
Dead Laptop
Notebooks have come a long way from the days when just the slightest movement could damage the hard drive but they are still very fragile. Dropping a notebook that is not in a protective case will probably cause serious damage to the circuits. Even a protective case is not a guarantee of the notebook surviving and there isn't any amount of Toshiba notebook parts in the world that will save a drowned notebook that wasn't meant to swim.
Stuff That Can Be Fixed
People are always surprised to hear this but you can fix a defective notebook screen by using Toshiba notebook parts. I am not sure why this always surprises people but a dead screen can be fixed. A bad power supply can also be fixed using Toshiba notebook parts as well as a bad battery.
The DVD drive and CD-Rom can be replaced or upgraded using Toshiba notebook parts.

If the LaCie Little Big Disk SSD is just too expensive for you (and it has to
be), here's an alternative.
Iomega announced today a new portable hard drive for Mac, the eGo Mac Edition
Portable Hard Drive, that offers up to 1TB of storage in a compact and drop-
resistant design. The new drive joins the company's existing lineup of Mac-
oriented storage products, such as the Mac Companion Hard Drive that came out
earlier this year.
Iomega says the new drive offers 256-bit hardware encryption and supports both
USB 2.0 and FireWire. It doesn't offer USB 3.0, but this is normal as Apple
doesn't seem like to support this standard anytime soon. The new drive is bus-
powered and comes with three cables for USB 2.0, FireWire 800, and FireWire
400 connections.
The Iomega eGo Mac Edition Portable Hard Drive comes with a three-year
warranty and is available now in 500GB and 1TB capacities, costing $179.99 and
$229.99, respectively, making them much more affordable than LaCie's
Thunderbolt drive.
Earlier this year, WD released the ... [Read more]
